Getting into shape and losing weight.
This is my attempt to getting in shape:

This is a mile hike, and it is steep! It get’s my heart rate up to 160 BPM, and is great cardio. I try to do this hike once a week. I am so busy. I got lazy with covid quarantine, and gained 30 pounds.
I’m very busy and find it difficult to find time for exercise.
How do you find the time to fit exercise into your schedual?
When I come home from work at night, I try to do some stretching exercises and weights, if I am not too tired.
That is one thing, I get really tired from working out. Too tired to want to go to work. Then I get worried about being tired at work. I probably just need to get used to it and suck it up!
Hiking is good for your mental health, for the cardiovascular system, it makes you stronger, and helps with osteoarthritis.

That looks like a good workout. Being outside is great for mental health and not just hiking for physical health. Good luck on your lifestyle change journey! Thank you for sharing.

I walk every day. It is good for my soul and the safety of those around me!! 😆
HAHA! I walk about 5-8 miles a day since I run around the place when I’m working at my job.
Good luck on your journey. I’m on one myself and I find getting out walking is also helping keep my mind in a good place. I understand being busy and not finding the time,by the time I’m finished doing everything & work, I’m wiped plus my fibro makes it harder but finding the things that are enjoyable & doesn’t feel like a chore helps.
Yes, that’s why I go hiking, it’s fun. I’m tired out as well after work! I hear ya!
I’m on a similar path, trying my best to get into shape. All the best with your goals!
Thank you so much!
Love it! Good luck on your journey!💕 I know the feeling, Covid has definitely thrown a spanner in my exercise routine too! 😬
Thank you! I know I can’t believe I’ve gained 30 pounds. OMG
I did, gain 20 pounds during Covid. Yikes.
My goodness, that is a proper hike, I can quite see how it would get your heart pumping! I’m very lazy so I don’t really have an exercise regime, I’m having to learn to love my COVID-related weight gain instead!
It’s an enjoyable hike, but so steep.
That’s a good hike I’m proud of you keep it up
Thank you so much!
I agree, hiking is wonderful for your mental health! Since covid, I’ve been making more time for exercise. I watch workout videos on YouTube and go for walks. Great post!
Thank you! I love hiking. Maybe one day I’ll get back into shape. HAHA
Ohh that looks like very rough terrain. Have you got good shoes to wear? I sometimes use treats for motivation to work out. It sounds silly but it makes me happy. 🙂
Whatever works! I should try bribing myself with treats! =) Thanks for visiting my blog.
I have some good hiking boots. =)
Time to hit the trails! 🙂
That looks like a good hike, I think everyone gain a few pounds since quarantine, it’s hard to keep active in these times. I’m trying to get back fit and I started to do a few exercises in my room with a yoga mat.
I love this hike. It’s beautiful. My doctor said a lot of people gained weight during Covid.
I definitely understand that pandemic weight gain and am desperately trying to lost it too. I’m in a different situation to you but am walking 10 km daily hoping that this will help. Thanks for sharing.
This sounds like a really great routine — I love the idea of being outside as that helps with emotional/mental well-being. I haven;t been getting out nearly enough so this was a great reminder. Thank you so much for sharing!
I gained the Covid weight too! But I had been the fittest I had ever been prior to it. It took me a long time to get back into exercising but I’m now doing EMS training twice a week and it’s only 20 minutes each time. I also LOVE hiking though so I try to do that every chance I can.
I don’t think putting on weight over lockdown is anything to be ashamed of. We’ve had much bigger things to worry about! I love getting outside for exercise but I don’t do it nearly enough. I tend to workout at home, do HIIT workouts and Yoga. I occasionally go for a run but I’m not a huge fan of running if I’m honest!
I must admit I also get tired of my routine to do anything else. Hiking is great but I am not built for hiking. So I’ve to choose from.other options. Good it works for you. Liked getting to know you a bit too. Xx

It is really hard to push ones self to exercise when returning from a long day, that is for certain. I try to tell myself to just start, and if it turns out I’m too tired to continue I give myself permission to stop. Nine times out of ten I feel energised a few minutes after starting, and am able to see it through to the end. Keep up the good work!
Good luck with your journey! It does get easier to fit it in once you establish your routine!

This looks hard but good at the same time! I really want to do a proper hiking trip abroad but this is a great way of getting out and exercising. Thanks for sharing x
Good luck on your weight loss. I can’t wait to hear more about it. Hiking is one of my favourite things to do. Thank you for sharing.
THank you so much!
