Do you believe in this superstition, that there is bad luck on Friday the 13th?
Where did this superstition originate from?
Well, there are various sources that say different things about the origin of Friday the 13th.
One article says the ancient Babylonians didn’t like the number because it didn’t divide easy, so it was a “bad” number. This is the earliest superstition.
Another assume it is bad luck because Jesus died on a Friday, and he had 13 disciples’ sitting at the table during the Lord’s Supper.
There was a 13th club was formed until the 1920’s where you confronted your fears, and had dinner with, 13 candles, 13 courses to show what little fear the group had.
Some of our presidents participated: Chester Arthur, Grover Cleveland, Benjamin Harrison, and Theodore Roosevelt.
I am a little superstitions, like “Oh it’s Friday the 13th”, but I really don’t think there is a correlation. It’s just another day, and actions come from consequences, not just out of the blue.
